What Actually Happens at a Boiler Service

A boiler service is a set of checks against the manufacturer's schedule, not just a quick look and a form.

A boiler service is a set of checks against the manufacturer's schedule, not just a quick look and a form. It exists to catch faults developing before they cause a breakdown or a safety issue.

The checks that matter

Case off, seals and ignition inspected, condensate route checked, and flue gases analysed with a combustion analyser to confirm the burn is clean.

What gets recorded

Pressure, flue readings and any parts inspected are logged, giving you a record if something changes between visits.

What a service will not fix

It is not a repair visit. If a fault is found, that is quoted and agreed separately rather than assumed as part of the service.

Book a boiler service

Tell us the make, model and roughly when it was last serviced and we will get it checked properly.

Questions we get asked

How long does a service take?

A straightforward service usually takes under an hour, longer if access is difficult or the boiler has not been serviced in some time.

Does servicing affect my warranty?

Manufacturer warranties commonly require annual servicing by a qualified engineer to remain valid; check your specific terms.

Can I service my own boiler?

No. Gas appliance servicing must be carried out by a Gas Safe registered engineer.
