Plumbing & Heating in Farnborough

Farnborough is our home town — most of our work happens within a few miles of the office, so an engineer is rarely far away when you need boiler, heating or plumbing help.

Our home town

Farnborough is where John The Plumb Ltd is based, and GU14 is the postcode we know best. Most of the working week is spent within a few miles of home, which means a Farnborough booking is the easiest one for us to fit in around other jobs.

Being local also means we tend to meet the same boilers again: the combi we fitted on one road ends up being serviced a year later, and the neighbour asks about theirs while the van is outside.

What Farnborough houses tend to need

A large share of the town is 1960s to 1980s semi-detached housing and post-war terraces, with newer builds around Aerospace Park. The older stock often still runs on original pipework and radiators, so a new boiler on its own is rarely the full answer. We look at the system as a whole, recommend a magnetic filter where there is none, and tell you honestly when a clean or flush is worth doing before a replacement.

Water here is moderately hard. It is not the worst in our area, but scale still builds up in combi heat exchangers over time, which is one reason an annual service is worth keeping up.

Rentals and small premises

Around a fifth of the homes we are asked about in Farnborough are let, so landlord gas safety certificates are a routine part of the work, alongside heating for a handful of small business units.
