Ideal Boilers: Logic and Vogue Range Guide
Ideal's Logic and Vogue ranges turn up often in smaller flats and new-build properties across the area, largely because of their compact size.
Ideal's Logic and Vogue ranges turn up often in smaller flats and new-build properties across the area, largely because of their compact size. As Gas Safe registered engineers we work on Ideal boilers regularly, without holding a manufacturer accreditation.
How the range is built
The Logic range favours a compact chassis, which keeps installation footprint small but also means components sit close together, so access during a repair takes more care.
What we see go wrong
Low water pressure lockouts and expansion vessel loss of charge are recurring issues, along with condensate trap blockages during cold snaps.
Servicing and parts
Parts for the current Logic and Vogue ranges are readily available; the discontinued Icos and Isar ranges are harder and sometimes need a like-for-like board replacement.
Questions we get asked
Is Ideal a good boiler brand?
We don't rank brands here — we can tell you what we see fail on the model you have and what a repair or replacement realistically involves.
My Ideal boiler keeps losing pressure — is that serious?
It usually points to a small leak or a failing expansion vessel rather than anything dangerous, but it does need finding rather than just topping up repeatedly.
Can you still repair an old Ideal Icos boiler?
Sometimes, subject to parts availability. If a board is unobtainable we will say so and talk through replacement options instead.
