What it does
It receives the radio signal from the thermostat or programmer and switches the boiler's demand circuit accordingly, acting as the bridge between wireless controls and wired boiler electronics.
How it fails
Pairing between the handset and receiver is lost, usually after a battery change or power cut, or the receiver's own internal relay wears with age.
Repair or replace
Re-pairing resolves most communication faults without replacing anything; a receiver with a failed relay is replaced as a unit.
