A shower pump takes a weak gravity-fed supply and gives it real force. It only works on the right kind of system, and fitting one on the wrong system causes noise, cavitation and short pump life.
Single or twin impeller
A twin pump boosts hot and cold together and keeps the mix stable. A single pump boosts one side and can leave the blend wandering.
Where the water comes from
The pump must draw from a stored supply, not from the mains. Drawing directly off the mains is not permitted and starves the pump anyway.
Why they get noisy
Air being drawn into the hot side from the vent pipe. A flange or dedicated take-off from the cylinder solves what mounting foam never will.

Questions we get asked
Can I fit a pump to a combi?
No. Combis are mains-fed and pumping their output is neither permitted nor effective.
Why does my pump run on after the shower stops?
Usually a passing non-return valve or a dripping outlet keeping flow detection triggered.
How long do shower pumps last?
It varies hugely with installation quality and water conditions, so we will not quote a lifespan we cannot stand behind.
