What we offer

Plenty of homeowners come to us already set on a Vaillant boiler, often because they have had one before or a friend recommended it. We fit all the major brands, including Vaillant, Ideal and Baxi, so a Vaillant installation is a perfectly normal job for us. What we add is a conversation about whether the model you have in mind suits your home's hot water demand, space and heating system.

John The Plumb is Gas Safe registered (554328). We are also a Worcester Bosch accredited installer, which is the one manufacturer accreditation we hold, but that does not stop us recommending and fitting a Vaillant boiler where it is the better fit. Every installation starts with a free in-home survey and a fixed price in writing, and a magnetic filter is fitted as standard.

Why people ask for Vaillant

Vaillant's ecoTEC range is one of the most common boilers already installed in homes, so many people are simply replacing like with like. Familiar controls, a layout they know and confidence from a previous boiler all count for something. If your existing Vaillant has served you well and the system around it is in good order, choosing another one can make a lot of sense. Our brand guide covers the range in more detail if you want background before the survey.

Vaillant or Worcester Bosch?

This is the question we are asked most often, and the honest answer is that both make well-regarded domestic boilers. The differences that matter usually come down to the specific model: its output, its physical size against the space you have, the controls you prefer and the manufacturer guarantee terms on offer at the time. Because we are a Worcester Bosch accredited installer, we can explain their options in detail, and we will set the Vaillant alternative alongside it so you can compare fairly rather than being steered.

Choosing the right Vaillant model

Brand comes second to boiler type and size. A combi suits homes where hot water is drawn from one or two outlets at a time; a system boiler with a cylinder suits larger households with several bathrooms; a regular boiler keeps an existing tank-fed arrangement working. Within each type, output needs to match the home. An oversized combi will not give better showers if the incoming mains cannot supply it, so the survey checks pressure and flow as well as the heating load.

Fitting the boiler

On the day, the old boiler is isolated, drained down and removed, and the new Vaillant is mounted with its flue, gas, condensate and water connections. The heating circuit is cleaned so debris from the old system does not reach the new appliance, and a magnetic filter is fitted on the return. Controls are connected and set up, and the boiler is commissioned and tested before we hand over. A straightforward swap in the same position is usually quicker than a move or a change of boiler type.

Paperwork and guarantees

After commissioning, the installation is registered and you receive the documentation for the boiler. Manufacturer guarantee terms for Vaillant boilers are set by Vaillant and depend on the model and the conditions attached, so check the terms for the specific boiler in your quote. Keeping the boiler serviced in line with the manufacturer's conditions is normally part of keeping that guarantee valid.
