A boiler swap follows a fairly fixed order once the engineer arrives, and knowing the sequence makes the day much less disruptive to plan around. Most straightforward like-for-like changes fit into a single working day.
Before the old boiler comes off
Dust sheets go down, the gas and water are isolated, and the system is drained. This is also when we confirm the flue route and pipe positions match what was quoted.
The middle of the job
New pipework, flue and bracket go in first, then the boiler is hung and connected. Electrics and controls are wired in before anything is powered up.
Commissioning at the end
The system is filled, purged of air, and the boiler is set up and combustion-tested before we hand back. You get a demonstration of the controls before we leave.

Questions we get asked
Will I be without heating and hot water all day?
Yes, both are off from isolation until commissioning near the end of the job, so plan hot water use around that.
Do I need to be in the whole time?
Someone needs to be reachable for decisions, but you do not need to watch the work happen.
What if something unexpected is found mid-job?
We stop and explain it before proceeding, rather than carrying on and telling you afterwards.
