The manifold is the heart of it
Each loop is balanced, flow-metered and actuated separately. A manifold that has never been balanced is the usual reason one room lags behind.
Why the build-up matters
Insulation below the pipes, screed depth and floor covering resistance all decide how quickly the floor responds and how much output you get.
Mixing with radiators
Radiators want hot water and floors want warm. A blending valve or a separate zone keeps both honest on the same boiler.

Low-profile systems exist, but door heights, thresholds and stair nosings all have to be checked first.
Is it slower to warm up?
Yes, particularly in screed. It is best run steadily rather than switched on and off like radiators.
Can one boiler run floors and radiators?
Yes, with proper temperature separation between the two circuits.
